Allen Iverson was my first crush. I think. It might've actually been Twister from Rocket Power. Anyways, all that to say I have a special place in my heart for The Answer. So when his piece for The Player's Tribune came out, I was excited to read it. And I got more than I bargained for. AI's piece is an honest and simple look at the man he is and always has been. He offers readers an uncomplicated version of Allen Iverson – boiled down to his truest form. He shares personal details, things you know about your friends, the things that make them human, unique and relatable. And in it, AI becomes more relatable. More real.
It's a fun read – bits of wisdom, favorite movies, a look at the NBA now and then, and AI's take on the GOAT.

'Tis the season for tea. One of my favorite ways to stay warm and also healthy this season is with honey-lemon-cayenne tea. This recipe calls for ginger, but if you don't have fresh ginger on deck, don't worry about it. Brew it up when you need a pick me up or feel a cold coming on.

Alex Garant is a contemporary figurative op art artist. With oil paint as her primary medium, Garant uses traditional techniques for her portraits combined with duplication, symmetry and image superposition to make some really incredible pieces. Her art is badass and trippy and absolutely beautiful. Peep her IG for her work.

My best friends are rolling their eyes right now, but I absolutely love this song. I got hip to Marteen, a 17-year old from Berkeley, when he opened for P-Lo and Kehlani last year. I caught the tail end of his set which included his song, "Sriracha." It's catchy and fun and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I think saunas are one of the best inventions ever (shout out Finland). Here's a few reasons why you should consider adding sauna time to your health routine. First, saunas help release toxins. Spending time in the sauna can cleanse your skin and improve your cardiovascular performance. Plus, it feels nice to sweat and relax. Learn more about the benefits of the holy hot box here.

I've been on a Toro y Moi kick lately, and his album, Anything in Return, has been getting a lot of spins in particular. Check out the track "Rose Quartz." It's funky and rhythmic, and the video is a work of art.

In search of a new read, I turned to my homie Meron. He's got good taste in books. He suggested "Sputnik Sweetheart" by Haruki Murakami. I'm looking forward to diving into more of Murakami's work. He's certainly a talented writer, tugs on the heart strings - pulling feelings out I didn't know existed. And he's pretty weird. All things I dig in literature.

I've mentioned The Unmistakeable Creative podcast before. It's one of my favorites. I always learn something new. The host, Srini Rao, recently penned an article, "What I Wish I'd Known About Building a Career in the Arts." It's honest and raw, and a gentle reminder that a creative life requires bravery.
