“Are you giving to your community?”
“Are you at peace with yourself?”
“Are you trying to be as human as you can be?”
– Morrie Schwartz; Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom
Flint, Michigan still doesn't have clean water. The water crisis in Flint started in 2014. Yes, 2014. Here we are four years later without a sustainable solution. And as of April, the State cut off the free water program.
It's easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget that we're all connected. I encourage you to take a step back and ask yourself, "are you giving to your community?" "Are you at peace with yourself?" "Are you trying to be has human as you can be?"
Please consider getting more involved in your community (locally, nationally or globally) through volunteerism, starting a club, or philanthropy. And please consider donating to the United Way's Flint Water Fund. $3, $10, $25. It doesn't have to be extravagant to make a difference. Access to clean water is a basic human right. We gotta come together to figure this one out. Like, ASAP.
