Roy Choi's got a new TV show, Broken Bread, where he explores food activism. It's something he's been talking about, and participating in, for a long time. The first episode aired last week and features two mission-driven restaurants in Los Angeles, HOMEBOY and Dough Girl. Both aim to rehabilitate gang members by providing training, support and jobs in the restaurant industry. Check it out, share it with a friend – we need more programs like this.

A nice vegetarian dish, these potato cakes with scallions & kale are great morning or night. Try garnishing with herbed marscapone.

Leven Kali dropped his project Low Tide last Friday and it's really, really good. His voice is magical and insanely soothing. If you've only got time to check out one song, spin "1 on 1," it's got 90s r&b vibes. But as always, I highly recommend listening to the tracklist top to bottom.

What do you get when two giraffes collide? A giraffic jam.

Steve Lacy's got an album coming out this Friday and it's maybe my most anticipated album of the year. I think he's a musical genius. Lacy joined The Internet in 2015. They'd already put out Purple Naked Ladies and Feel Good, two solid, really nice projects. But Lacy came along and complete elevated their sound on Ego Death, which may be a perfect album. And one the coolest things about Steve is that he does hella production off his iPhone. Like insanely dope tracks he's produced off his iPhone. I'm talkin' "Pride" by Kendrick Lamar was a product of Steve Lacy's iPhone ingenuity. It's a reminder to be resourceful and do what you can with what you have. You don't need much more than your mind.

Musiq Soulchild is one of the GOATs. I spent most of Sunday listening to his discography while doing absolutely nothing, and let me tell you, it was a day very well spent. Interested in doing the same? Start at the beginning with his album Aijuswanaseing and that first track, "Girl Next Door."
